My family and I are really disappointed about how those men that brutally murdered our beloved family member just got away with murder. Imagine, the fiscal even let them know the Police will be coming to arrest them-right in front of the victim's family. Hmmm...is doing such part of their constitutional rights? I have never heard of it, you know. So, just what kind of a justice system is that? That is being bias, and quite unfair to the victim's family; us. We are all disheartened by how people operates in the justice system of the Philippines-especially in Bayawan that is. Now, none of those men that fled has ever been caught. People can actually murder someone like those men did to my uncle, and get away with it so easily, because even the fiscal helps with sending them out of town, so as the defense lawyer those men has. It was like saying "pack your bags, and get out of town, they are coming". They gave those men a bus ticket out of town. Those men were not even brought in for questioning, as suspects their pictures should have been taken just in case they do what they did. Now, they are nowhere to be found, and the Police can do nothing to locate and apprehend them. When can my uncle get the justice he deserves? |

Justice should be blind. But somethines, to save their necks, they have to remove their blindfolds and take the side of the more powerful to be spared the mafia's revenge. It is a sad truth in our society.
But anaps, when you singled out Bayawan's justice system to be especially dishearting, then you too have also taken off your blindfolds and gave a biased judgement. Put in consideration that Luzon and Mindanao have more unresolved crime rates. But I don't blame you for your slanted thinking because it was your uncle who was murdered, and often, emotions get the best of us. |

Well, nobody can blame me because I have all the reasons to say what I said here-they gave me the reasons to say what I say, really... . I have never heard of such biased actions being done anywhere else (though I know for a fact that there are so many unsolved cases somewhere else), and indeed people take the wrong side to save their necks, however, who are they afraid of anyway against those men that murdered my uncle, in such case? We are not talking about political stuff here, whereas if you open your mouth you find yourself six feet under shortly after-as we hear it every once in a while, of course. We felt completely disrespected when the fiscal judge and defense lawyer loudly uttered that "The Police will be coming to arrest the rest of the perpetrators-it was said indirectly to the mother of the suspects. What a terrible thing to say , that is why we are disheartened and to say the least "Disappointed" . It was unfair I tell you, yes, it was unorthodox. Is that how it works now? I used to think it only happen in the movies, you know . We are already badly bruised about how my uncle was murdered and they do what they do. Who can possibly think straight after that? |

I am genuinely sorry for your loss. You have all the reasons to be mad. However these kinds of injustices have occured many times since ancient history. It's not a new trend, it has always been human nature, to lenient for reasons I can only imagine. Only few are those who speak up for the truth, and sometimes they are eternally silenced, like the late judge Velasco.
But don't lose hope. There is higher power than those who commited injustice. There is always the higher court. Try to appeal to them, and perhaps, you will be heard. |

I was just talking with my mother today about injustice, and yes, I do agree with you on that. It is indeed very sad. I also feel bad for other families who had the same thing happened to them. I have friends whose friends were murdered and there is no justice for them either, and they are from all over the Philippines. What saddens me most is the fact that those people whose lives were cut short will never be able to come back and enjoy life again. Their lives were stolen from them . But I guess in order to stay a little longer in this world, you have to play invisible; blind, mute, and deaf. Someone who doesn't take a stand for the right, but do nothing and take the wrong side instead. After all, they only have to deal with their conscience for the rest of their lives-that is easy enough though. Those who usually fight for what is right ends up dead, huh? It takes courage to do what is right because you are putting your life on the line. In America, people fight for freedom, liberty, and justice for all. Freedom is not free. A lot of people have died doing the right thing-died a hero. It goes to show us, that mostly "Only The Good Die Young" . People can get lost with deciding which way to go...LOL . Anyway, I just thought I would jot down a bit here, interacting. Thanks for your kind comments. And oh, I heard about the Judge you are mentioning here. I hope that justice will be served for him as well. |

| Almost everyone commit the sin of omission. It happens everytime in our little ways. Where are the future heroes? None - people are blinded, muted and deafened by fear. Heroes are scarce. And sometimes, if heroes do emerge, they are ignored by people who simply wish to be idle. |
